Novel Beginnings: Two Authors Read Opening Chapters & Discuss Story Development

October 4, 2023. Fellow Bold Writer Andrew Fritz and I read from our current works and focus on answering two questions for the listening audience: How does a novel's plot drive character development? How does character drive the plot itself? The audience is invited to share ideas about their own creative writing work and to ask questions. Topics will include manuscript submission and crafting the novel or short story itself—how closely one should map it out and when to let the story emerge organically in surprising, unexpected directions. We’re excited to engage with the public as well as students of Albright College’s new creative writing minor. 6:30 – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 4, 2023, Science Center Lecture Hall (Room 256), Albright College.
